That what Hafiz says is not true,
For when the heart tastes its glorious destiny

A true Sufi,the one who is tested constantly by allah or lets say the one with which allah like to play,to show mercy, to test,to hurt or to kill........but irrespective of the action,the spiritual flams remians same for the sufi,like rabia said From him i have come and to him shall i return.....but who are we to judge them,why dont we leave these people with there Lord and when we worldly people with sinner souls do interfear,it leads to disaster, and one example to it was Mansur al-Hallaj, Fariduddin Attar says "What a pity that such a great saint should have been so little understood by his contemporaries.You can revere a tree,if the sound Anal Haq(I am the Truth)comes out of it,but you put to the gibbet a human being if he utters the same word,you should know that all such words is said in ecstasy,and speaking through the tongue of Lord"..................Yes you heard it right Mansur al-Hallaj was a saint who said Anal Haq(i am the truth)for saying so his body was cut in to parts and he died painfully.He was agreat saint and in ecstacy was shouting Anal Haq ,but when people heard that they made a hue and cry and punished him........a great saint who has no interest in world or worldly things died a tragic deadth...........i dont know what it takes to be sufi but sure know they are the chosen one from Allah.i can never be the burning flame but like to be the small fly circulating it, sure they where the pious souls who witnessed allahs ecstacy and i the one whose age is daily decreasing and sins are constantly increasing....
Sufism is always considered as a Mystical dimension of islam,a spiritual connection with divine. People in general see more than that to it,they associate supernatural activity to it,Miracles, Magic and some times telepathy to it and but they are drawn more to the magical part of it.............if we look back in to history if islam ,we can see many such incidents,there are incidents of prophet Moosa all his era was filled with magic ,and unnatural activity like the river nile dividing it self and giving way for Moosa and his people and our prophet(PBUH)mohammed dividing the moon in to two parts..............But i beg to differ, that there is any mystical or magical part associated to sufism,all those incidents in islamic history done by prophets where shown so that people know and believe in Allah but a sufi know and fear allah more than any of us,so why does he need to see or show any miracles ,when his only concern is to make his lord happy ,his imaan is stronger than us.
We might have seen or heard of sufis not eating or drinking for months and still surviving ,seen certain sufis walking on water and certain xyz things ,what looked to us as a miracle ,was actually the reward allah gave them.............As you know a sufi eats halaal food,there was this one sufi by the name maaz,once he was sitting with his companian in spiritual exercise ,a man came and asked maaz have you seen any goat over here last night ,to that maaz replied no.Then maaz asked the man what the problem is, the man replied one of my goat is missing form last night and i fear that it might be stolen.after the man went away maaz asked his companian,please tell me how many year does a healthy goat lives ,to that his companian replied not more than 40 year, than maaz never eat meat for the whole 40 years just thinking that some one in the market might have bought that goat which is stolen (i.e haraam ) and that person might have slaughtered that goat today.such is there takwah and imaan ,in short few sufis consider time spent in eating as a seperation from allah,when allah became pleased with them ,allah rewarded them by giving them exception from food and water, and thats what our eyes sees as a MIRACLE and MAGIC, which actually is, there SPIRITUAL HEIGHTS but we fail to see...........
