Rumi says

I have again and again grown like grass
I have experienced seven hundred and seventy mould s
I died from minerality and became vegetable
And from vegetativeness I died and became animal
I died from animality and became man
They why fear disappearance through death?
Next time I shall die
Bringing forth wings and feathers like angles
After that soaring higher than angels
What you cannot imagine I shall be that

Diwan-e- Mo'in

Maa talabgaar-e-to aim o to gorezani ze maa
Maa basuyat moqbal o to ruye gardaani ze maa

I'm seeking you out, but you're running away from Me,
I'm looking towards you, but you're turning away your face from Me.

Maa berun az shash jehat waz sad jehat juyaan to
Chand khud raa har taraf mashghul gardaani ze maa

I'm beyond the six directions, but you are seeking Me everywhere.
How long will you keep yourself occupied thus by turning away from Me?

Har kojaa khwaahi shodan baa maa to ham ai bikhabar
Maa namimaanim az to gar to'i maani ze maa

O, ignorant one, you are seeking Me to be with Me,
But I'll not forsake you, so abide with Me.

Maa chu bahr o to chu abri baar-e-maa kash gham makhur
Baagh raa khandaan koni gar chand geryaani ze maa

I'm the ocean and you are the cloud which has arisen from it. Don't be
unhappy,
You make the garden bloom with your tears because of Me.

Goftamash taa chand dar parda nehaan khwaahi shodan
Waqt aan aamad ke digar ru napushaani ze maa

I asked Him: ‘How long will You remain hidden behind the veil?
Has not the time come to reveal Yourself to me?'

Goft man bi pardah am gar pardah bini aan to'i
Taa to hasti dar hazaaraan pardah penhaani ze maa

He answered: ‘I am not veiled. It is your existence, which creates a veil.
As long as you exist you'll be concealed by a thousand veils from Me'.

Chun to'i pishat haqiqi chand naam in o aan
In wojud-e-‘aarezi baashad ke besetaani ze maa

‘How can you be admitted to God's presence by reciting this or that name?
It is your temporal existence which is separating you from Me'.

Gofta cheshtam ze meraati ke zaaher shod Mo'in
Man che guyam kaz ke shod chun khud hamidaani ze maa

It was asked:
'What is it, O Mo'in, that has been revealed to you in the mirror?'
I answered:
'Why do You ask, when You know Yourself what has been shown to me?'

Delaa ba-halqa-ye-rendaan-e-bazm-e-‘eshq dar aa
Ke jor'a ze sharaab-e-baqaa dehand toraa
O my heart, enter the circle of the drunken lovers,
So that they may give you a draught of the wine of immortality.

Biyaa wa har do jahaan raa beshash-dar andar na
Dar in qemaar beyak daaw har che hast dar aa
Come and put both worlds at stake in a gambling game.
Offer all there is in one move of this game.

Agar baqaa' talabi auwalat fanaa baayad
Ke taa fanaa nashawi rah namibari ba baqaa'
If you search for eternal life you need to annihilate your self first,
Because you'll not find the way to eternal life without dying to yourself.

To baaz-e-shaahi o az dast-e-shaah paridi
Ba ghair shaah makon mail o suye shaah baaz aa
You are the royal falcon, taking your flight from the hand of the King.
Don't love anyone but Him and return to the King.

Ze zolmat-e-bashariyat chu ba gozri ba rasi
Az in haziz-e-danaa'at bar awj-e-u adnaa
If you are able to free yourself of the dark side of human nature,
Then you can rise from the lowest point of badness to His highest abode.

Boraq-e-‘eshq baraaye to sad qadam tai kard
To ham mozayaqa ba-gozar o yak qadam pesh aa
The steed of love has traversed a hundred steps towards you:
Do not hesitate and also take a step yourself!

To chand dar talab-e-yaar dar ba-dar gardi
Ba-khud negar ke tu'i mazhar-e-hama asmaa
How long have you been searching for the Beloved from door to door?
Look inside yourself, as it is the place of manifestation of all His names!

Ba-in mabin ke tu khaaki o khaak tiraa buwad
Ba-in negar ke tu aa'yinay-e-jamaal nomaa
Do not see yourself as a body of clay,
See yourself as a mirror reflecting the divine beauty.

Sahaab-e-‘eshq chu baaraan-e-shawq mibaarad
‘Ajab madaar gar az khaak ba-shegofad golhaa
The clouds of love have produced a rain of intense longing.
Don't be surprised if from this clay flowers start blooming.

Neqaab-e-hastiye-khod raa to az miyaan bar daar
Degar ba-bin ke jamaal ke mishawad paidaa
Remove the veil of your personal existence
And then you'll see how much beauty will be revealed to you.

Ba-gir mesqalaye-‘eshq o zang-e-tan bezedaaya
Ba-bin dar aayinaye-jaan jamaal-e-jaanaan raa
Use love as a polishing aid to remove the bodily impurities:
You'll see in the reflection of your soul the beauty of the Beloved.

Ba-kush taa ke ze chashmat ghobaar barkhezad
Ke taa ma'aanat bini zahur-e-nur-e-khodaa
Strive to remove the dust from your eyes,
So that you can see the succour of the manifestation of the light of God.

Agar tajalliye nur-e-qedam hami khwahi
Mo'in naqaab-e-hodus az jamaal-e-khod ba-koshaa
If you keep on longing for the glory of the eternal light,
Then you, Mo'in, should draw aside the curtain of your newly emerged inner beauty.

But in fact instead of being destroyed it has now been revived.

The Cupbearer of the divine banquet has opened the door of the tavern.
Just now He gave me a hundred thousand cups from His wine-vault.

My present state of existence has been shaken from its foundation.

Yet even now his search will not stop.

As the cup, the wine and the wine-poorer are available,
It is only proper that I am drunk.

Give me one draught from the cup of union,
So that I am a Mansur on the gibbet of extinction.

From that cup the secret of ‘I am the Truth'

Mo'ini has returned from the city of love,
Thus it is no wonder that I have become famous.

My thirsty lips have been comforted by the pure water of the name of God.

You'll see that union with God is in union with the name of God.

Ay ânke tuîy-e tâleb-e ism-e a’zam

The essence whereof Adam was a quality, we are!
O, you! Searching for the Greatest Name,
Do not abandon us as the Greatest Name, we are!

Shaykh Nuroddin Esfaraayini gives this Persian text of the above quatrain on p. 14
of his Kaashef al-asraar:

Chist keh hich suye maa khod nazari namikoni
Haale del shekaste beh battari namikoni
Del bebari o tan ze niro keh to niz chun falaq
Dar haqq kas ‘enaayati bi jagar namikoni.

O, the copy of the divine book, you are.
Ah, the miror of the beauty of the king, you are.
Apart from you there is nothing in the two worlds:
All you want, seek it in yourself, as that you are.

Shaykh Bahâ’î (d. 1621) has written this beautiful poem:

Har dar keh zanam sâheb-e-khâne to-î to
Har jâ keh rawam par to kâshâne to-î to
Dar maykade o dayr jânâne to-î to
Maqsûd-e-man az ka’ba o butkhâne to-î to
Maqsûd-e-to-î ka’ba o butkhâne bahâne

Every door that I knock on, the Lord of the house is You, You!
Every place that I go to, the light in the house is You, You!
In the tavern and in the convent, the Beloved is You, You!
The One I seek in the Ka’ba and the idol temple is You, You!
Your purpose behind the Ka’ba and the idol temple
is to create but a pretext.

Rumi says

Chun gol hamaye tan khandam na az raahe dehaan tanhaa
Ziraa keh manam bi man baa shaah-e jahaan tanhaa

Like the rose, with my whole body I smile and not with my mouth alone;
Because I am, I without I, with the king of the world, alone.

Ai mash’ala-aawardah delraa besahar bordah
Jaan raa berasaan dar del delraa masataan tanhaa

O, bearer of the torch, ravisher of my heart until the early morning,
Lead my soul to my heart, do not take my heart alone!

Az khashm o hasad jaanraa bigaana makon baa del
Aan raa magozaar injaa vin raa bemakhaan tanhaa

Do not estrange my soul from my heart because of anger and envy,
That one, do not leave here and this one, do not invite alone!

Shaahaana payaami kon yak da’vate ‘aami kon

Send a royal message, prepare a general invitation!
Until when, o king, this one with you and that one alone?

Chun dush agar emshab naayi o bebandi lab

If you, just like last night, do not come tonight and keep silent again,
We’ll cry out one hundred times, o soul, we do not lament alone!

n silence things take form, and we must wait and watch. In us, in our secret depth, lies the knowing element which sees and hears that which we do not see nor hear. All our perceptions, all the things we have done, all that we are today, dwelt once in that knowing, silent depth, that treasure chamber in the soul. (Kahlil Gibran)
